Their mission is to, “provide community driven space exclusively for Women Veterans” at locations throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
PHL17’s Jennifer Lewis-Hall visited the VMC Women Veterans Program in Philadelphia spending a morning recently talking with women veterans who have done military service in the Navy and Army.
Services provided to the veterans include free clothing, a computer lab, library, children’s play area and a diverse offering of wellness and fellowship activities and events.

Lewis-Hall spoke with Lena Fowler who is the VMC Community Outreach Specialist in Philadelphia and also a Navy Veteran. She says for her, the VMC was lifechanging. It is the same organization that before working there, helped her get back on her feet. Over a decade ago, the organization helped Fowler find housing when she was homeless.
