Senior Case Manager/Program Asst - PASSVF

Senior Case Manager/Program Assistant position is a professional peer example demonstrating strong ability to work independently and shows proficiency in case management skills. This person will be responsible for maintaining a variable caseload of veteran clients for The Philadelphia Alliance for Supportive Services for Veteran Families (PASSVF) program. Overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring the provision of safe and affordable housing for Veterans who are experiencing or at risk of becoming homeless; provide ongoing support and expertise through assessment, planning, implementation, and overall evaluation of the veteran’s needs as drawn from his/her housing stabilization plans; perform follow up to reassess veteran household’s needs and the status of his/her care; secure information contributing to the client’s situation and evaluate these, along with the client’s capabilities/skills. Assist housing coordinator and program manager with oversight of case management duties and other tasks as requested.

Deputy Executive Director for Advancement

The Deputy Executive Director for Advancement position requires effective leadership competencies essential to participate in strategic planning and development activities; including donor solicitation and grant preparation. Success for the Deputy Executive Director for Advancement means that VMC has a robust, growing stream of contributed revenue and a development team equipped for ongoing success. This position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Board Chair and Chair of the Board’s Development Committee.

Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Develop annual fundraising strategy and priorities for fundraising events, including defining the annual calendar of events and setting net revenue goals
  • Lead all gift/grant management activities, including at least two annual appeals and other engagement activities to maintain an enthusiastic and engaged base of annual supporters
  • Develop and implement marketing and communication plans and strategies including public relations, media relations, on-line giving, digital communications, key messaging, storytelling and brand experience
  • Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate potentials for corporate and foundation grants
  • Ensure timely submission of all necessary correspondence, reports and proposals to steward individual gifts, foundation grants, corporate grants and sponsorships
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director, Program Staff, Board of Directors and other stakeholders to identify fundraising opportunities, set goals, create new project initiatives and manage relationships with VMC’s top supporters
  • Manage the operations and fiscal performance of fund development activities including creating project plans and annual budgets.
  • Make presentations to potential donors, service organizations, corporations, etc.
  • Provide regular reports regarding fundraising progress and prospects

CHIEF Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; master’s degree in public administration or equivalent is preferred
  • 5+ years leading successful non-profit fund-raising experience, with a proven and consistent record of raising at least $25M in philanthropic funds and donor acquisitions; including exposure to a mix of fundraising activities
  • Minimum 3 years grant writing experience with solid oral and written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals
  • Strong fiscal management skills including budgeting and projecting fund development income and expenses
  • Deep knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies
  • Demonstrated leadership of successful fundraising campaigns
  • Knowledge of the Greater Philadelphia Region’s philanthropic community a plus
  • Initiative, drive, entrepreneurial acumen, planning and evaluation skills
