Mary Walker House Program Administrator

Position Title: Program Administrator

Type of Position:  Full-time

Location: Coatesville, PA  

Reports to: Director, Coatesville Residential Services

Requirements: Three to five years’ managerial experience in a drug and alcohol recovery program & mental health environment. Knowledge of veteran entitlements. Working knowledge of principles of 12-step based recovery programs

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred in human services or related field. Equivalent education and experience considered.

Travel: Approximately 0-15%  


Position Overview: Oversee, manage and monitor the daily operations and administrative functions of the program. Ensure the program is in compliance with all grant requirements, federal regulations and agency policies. Provide all reporting as required by VA Grant and Per Diem program. Ensure all residents are executing their individual contracts as agreed upon, meals are nutritious in nature, and that living accommodations are maintained in a neat, clean and safe manner. Ensure all rules, regulations, policies and procedures are enforced and followed. Overall goal is to ensure the success placement to permanent housing, as well as insuring residents achieve personal and program goals.


  • Monitor and tracks all program specific activities of participant's, enforces program policies and procedures, as well as strict adherence to Mary Walker House standards of living.
  • Provides job placement assistance, must be able to aid Veteran's in completing resumes, as well as searching for open positions within designated databases.
  • Aids Veteran's in establishing a budget, and creating an individualize savings plan.
  • Develops individual service plans, to include addressing housing needs, referrals for services, as well as conducts monthly case management meetings to monitor clients status.
  • Community partner, must be able to maintain and develop new relationships within the surrounding community.


  • Assist Veteran Residents with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner in a private area
  • Provide Veteran residents with every opportunity to locate and obtain suitable housing in the location they want to live
  • Answer and refer all inquiries to the proper individuals to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated.
  • Provide all residents with the opportunity to contribute to the reviewing and upgrading to the policies and procedures
  • Identify yourself in a pleasant and positive manner.

  • Computer Skills: Including but not limited to Outlook and Microsoft Office
  • Other required skills: The ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. This position also requires a solid, self-directed individual who can excel both independently and as a team player. Candidates must be able to complete tasks according to accepted levels of quality. Experience in a growing entrepreneurial company is preferred. Excellent work ethic, enthusiasm and positive energy.
