The U.S. Department of Labor's Veterans' Employment and Training Service announced a list of Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) grant recipients today, including a $300,000 grant awarded to Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service and Education Center (PVMSEC), for their dedication to job training, job placement, housing and other services.

(Philadelphia, PA) – PVMSEC has a long history of providing homeless veterans with unparalleled programs. A full range of services –from housing, job training and placement, to counseling –highlight their mission to help all veterans reintegrate into society and the labor force.

The HVRP grant will allow PVMSEC to continue their outreach and extend their services to more homeless veterans within the region. Funds were awarded on a competitive basis to state and local workforce investment boards, local public agencies and nonprofit organizations, including faith-based and community organizations. The organizations selected are considered the most effective at addressing the specific needs of their veteran communities.

Executive Director, Tim Meserve, expressed appreciation for the US Department of Labor's confidence in PVMSEC programs. "We are truly humbled by the award of the HVRP grant. These funds support our job training programs, which allow our veterans the means to keep the permanent housing we find for them."

"I am the wife of a Viet Nam Veteran. My husband started going to PVMSEC 10 years ago for help. No mere words could ever express how much his life and in turn our family life has changed for the better in those years. I am and always will be grateful for the wonderful care he has received at the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service Center & Education Center."
